In addition to handling complaints, the ICC actively promotes awareness about gender
sensitivity, dignity, and workplace safety through various programs and initiatives.
The committee is committed to maintaining a secure and supportive atmosphere for all
students, faculty, and staff.
Powers of the ICC
As per Section 11(3) of the POSH Act, the Internal Complaints Committee is vested
with powers similar to those of a Civil Court under the Civil Procedure Code, 1908
for the purpose of inquiry. These powers include:
- Initiating and conducting
inquiries into complaints of sexual harassment in the workplace.
- Summoning the concerned parties
and witnesses to appear before the committee and provide statements.
- Calling for and examining
relevant documents or evidence whenever necessary for the inquiry process.
Through these powers, the ICC ensures that
complaints are handled with transparency, fairness, and due diligence.
