The rising sun at the top of the shield symbolizes power. On the left corner is enshrined the portico of the old college buildings with classical pillars, while the right corner features the ever-burning torch of knowledge. The lotus, a sacred symbol of Hinduism, occupies the remaining portion of the shield. Below the emblem appears the oft-quoted maxim “MENS AGITAT MOLEM” (Mind Moves Matter).
